Chichester Beekeepers love to talk about Honeybees!

We have beekeepers willing to come to Schools & Groups ie WI, Youth groups – Brownies, Scouts etc to talk about Honeybees.

Talks are tailored to the needs & interest of the group and could include

  • Difference between the honeybee and other bees
  • What happens inside a honeybee hive
  • How to look after honeybees
  • Who are the Pollinators 
  • Encouraging bees and pollinators to your space i.e. garden or school
  • Creating bee friendly areas
  • Threat from Yellow Legged Hornet (Asian Hornet) 

The UN designate 20 May annually as World Bee Day. The goal is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators throughout the world.

The British Beekeepers' Association celebrate National Honey Day on 21st October each year to encourage support to local beekeepers

Schools

The British Beekeepers' Association also have an initiative Friends of the honeybee " aimed at primary schools & other community groups to encourage them to become more bee friendly and aware of the importance of all pollinators. See their website page for more information
